Designated hitter Kevin Millar lofted one into the 'cheap seats' as the
Detroit Iron Gloves topped the Dyersville Jurassics by a score of 7 to 4 at
the ballpark.
Detroit drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
scoring 2 runners on 3 hits. Dyersville threatened in the 9th but Detroit
was able to put down the rally.
Kris Benson(6-10) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Francisco Rodriguez earned his 12th save. Tim Wakefield(5-9) was hit with
the loss.
Mike Wilson was beaming after the game, 'Not only were we making good contact,
but a lot of balls we hit seemed to have 'eyes'! I just love winning these
tight ones! It was just our day - no doubt about it!'
